SBR Latex Waterproofing Liquid
PC SBR LATEX Liquid is a milky white latex based on a modified styrene butadiene copolymer emulsion. The resulting product is a waterproofing and bonding admixture. SBR Liquid can be mixed with cements, sand-cement mortars andconcretes. The mixes produced give high bond strength to existing concrete, masonry and reinforcing steel. Weather resistance is improved due to reduced permeability and thinner sections may be applied due to improved flexural and tensile strengths. Additional improved properties include abrasion resistance, freeze thaw resistance and chemical resistance. PC SBR Liquid is suitable for both internal and external use.
- Bonding agent belween old concrete and new concrete.
- Concrete repairs.
- Floor toppings
- Bonding of screed and renders.
- Waterproong of tonks and pools.
All contact surfaces must be sound, clean and provide a good mechanical key. Remove all loose material, plaster, paint and oily deposits. Roughen smooth concrete by scrabbling or other mechanical means. PC SBR LATEX : 1 part by volume and Ordinary Portland Cement : 2 parts by volume Add cement slowly to PC SBR LATEX Liquid stirring continuously until a smooth consistency is achieved. Stir occasionally during use. Large quantities may be mixedusing a Mortar Stirrer and a slow speed drill. The coverage of the PC SBR Liquid is 3-42m per liter depends on substrate porosity.
STORAGE AND SHELF LIFE
PC SBR LATEX Liquid will have a shelf life of 12 months when kept in dry conditions t a temperature of 5°C to 35°C. Storage at higher temperatures may reduce the shelf life. PC SBR Liquid must be protected from frost. Stir well before use.
COMPATIBILITY
PC SBR LATEX Liquid is compatible with the following cement and porzollan : Ordinary Portland cement; Rapid Hardening Portland Cement ; Calcium Aluminates Cement ; Pulverized Fuel ; Ash ; Ground Granulated ; Blast furnace slag ; Calcium Sulpho aluminate systems. SBR Liquid is not recommended for use with masonry cement or in conjunction with air entering admixtures.
CHEMICAL RESISTANCE
Portland Cement mixes which are polymer free are vulnerable to chemical attack by acidic and sulphate containing materials. The additional of SBR Liquid at the higher quoted levels will improve the chemical resistance of Portland cement mixes.
